Target Aquisition and

|

|
The TADS examines the target you have selected whether it be a ship, a missile or a tin of Spam, and shows you whether it's an ally or a potential threat (actually, allies are potential threats also), how damaged it is or whether or not it's past its use-by date. Though it doesn't look it, the TADS is more useful to an experienced pilot than the DAMAGE REPORT MACHINE. With the TADS you can aim for a weakened hull section, or seeing a thruster problem, go out and make it worse. The 3D image at the bottom left indicates the target's attitude relative to you. In this example the Tyron is facing towards us. The lower right part of the screen is a damage report machine, reporting the target's damage. The stuff at the top of the screen shows the target's call-sign, ship type (if it is a ship), bearing and elevation in degrees and a graphical direction indicator. To the right is the technical data and performance figures for the target (well, for a brand spanking new show-room model anyway). |
